KSRelief begins distribution of food aid in Kandahar

KANDAHAR (AIP): King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) on Thursday (June 1) started distribution of food baskets among 3,000 destitute families.
The distribution of food basket started from Kandahar City in which the food packages will be distributed among 1500 families in the next few days.
In this connection, ceremony was held in Kandahar City and was attended by OIC ambassador Dr. Mohammad Saeed al-Ayash, representatives of KSRelief, Official of Afghan Red Cresent for southern Zone abdul Samad Sanai and others.
The food aid is being distributed with technical cooperation of OIC and supervision of Afghan Red Crescent.
Few months ago, the KSRelief started a massive project of the distribution of food baskets among 47400 destitute families in Afghanistan. the first phase of the project has already been completed in Kabul, Logar, Nanarhar, Laghman and Nuristan province with the distribution of food baskets among 14000 families. The second phase was launched on April 13 and still continues and it will cover six provinces including Herat, Nimroz, Ghor, Kandahar, Helmand and Farah with the distribution of food baskets among 11000 families.
The distribution of the aid goods has been completed in Ghor and Nimroz and started in Kandahar today which will be followed by Herate, Helmand and Farah province.
Each food basket contains 40kg flour, five liters ghee, five kg beans, five kg rice, five kg sugar and two kg dates. Ends
