Chinese firm keen to invest in slaughterhouses in Afghanistan

KABUL (AIP): A Chinese firm showed keenness in investment in slaughterhouses in Afghanistan.
A press release issued by ministry of agriculture and livestock here on Wednesday said the representatives of HZ Trading Company of China called on deputy minister for agriculture and livestock Maulvi Sadar Azam Nov. 23.
The officials of the Chinese company expressed their keenness in investment in the government run slaughterhouses in Afghanistan.
They said if the government run slaughterhouses come up to their standard then they will get the slaughterhouse on lease  and if it does not fufill their standard then they will build new slaughterhouses.
Maulvi Sadar Azam said that the Islamic Emirate is committed to provide oppertuntities to private sector and cooperate with them.
He said the agriculture ministry would give control of the slaughter houses to the company that slaughters animals as per the teachings of Islam.
The ministry of agriculture and livestock constructed slaughterhouses in different provinces of the country by spending thousands of dollars but most of them are closed now. Ends
