Ex-Afghan prime minister Eng. Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai passes away

KABUL (AIP): Former Afghan prime minister Engineer Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai died after protoracted illness, his family said Sunday.
His family confirmed said Engineer Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai was ill for the last two months and was under treatment in hospital.
He died at the age of 78 in hospital.
Graduated from Engineering faculty of Kabul University, Ahmadzai done his master in engineering from Colorado University and taught at Shah Faisal University in Saudi Arabia for several.
He stared jihadist activities after former Soviet Union invasion of Afghanistan and was deputy president of Burhanuddin Rabbani led Jamiat-i-Islami before joining Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf’s Itehadi Islami Party.
He served as prime minister and interior minister during the transitional government of Mujahideen. He was out of Afghanistan politics since long. Ends
