KABUL (AIP): Torrential rain caused loss of life and property in northwestern Baghlan, Takhar and Kunduz province, local residents said Wednesday.
The residents of Pul-e-Khumri, Dehna Ghori and Dand Ghori areas of Baghlan province, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that the destroyed damaged a large number of orchards, corps and roads in these areas besides causing floods in some areas.
They said that the rain badly damaged hundreds of houses and some of them may collapse.
Source told AIP that there were reports of four deaths from rain related incidents in Baghlan province.
When contacted, director information and culture in Baghlan Maulvi Asadullah Mustafa Hashimi said they were aware of the damages caused by rain and survey teams have been dispatched to affected areas to conduct damage assessment. 
Residents in Maidan Wardak province, said flash floods followed the heavy rain in the Narkh and Daimirdad districts of the same province.
In Maidan Shahar, capital of Wardak province, the rain destroyed four houses and severely damaged orchards in the Daimirdad district.
Similarly, severe dust storm hit Helmand, Nimroz and Kandahar provinces, causing loss of life and property.
Meanwhile, the Kabul-Jalalabad road was closed for traffic for several hours yesterday.
Almost all the provinces of Afghanistan received rain yesterday and today. Ends
